Choosing an outfit for a wedding or celebration
An outfit needs to suit the real day as well as the photographs: travel, greetings, a meal and dancing. Choose it around the way you will actually spend your time at the celebration.
Try the complete look in motion
During a fitting, sit down, walk and lift your arms. Check how the clothes feel with your chosen shoes and an extra outer layer. Look at the outfit in lighting similar to the event, not only in the fitting-room mirror. If the day includes a long walk or different venues, consider a more comfortable option for part of it. Ask children directly whether they can sit and join their activities comfortably.
Leave time for the small details
Confirm preparation, alteration and final fitting dates. Make a short list of shoes, accessories, outerwear and a way to transport the clothes. For hired outfits, agree exactly what is included and the collection and return times. Try everything together before the occasion, so mismatches are found early. A coordinated, comfortable set makes it easier to enjoy the gathering than one striking item with the remaining details left until the last moment.
